Governor Ortom places N5m price tag on alleged killer of his aide

Akwaza, a beneficiary of the state amnesty programme, had been declared wanted by the police for his alleged involvement in kidnapping, armed robbery and assassinations in the state.
This was disclosed by the acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bem Meladu, at the end of the state security meeting in Makurdi on Wednesday, August 24.
The Police said Akwaza, popularly called Gana, is wanted for his alleged involvement in the killing of Ortom’s security aide, Mr Denen Igbana and rustling of over 3,000 cattle in the state.
According to Meladu, the Security Council has also directed the Commissioner of Police to re-open the case of the Catholic priest in the state who was kidnapped and assassinated.
