State government set to build 5,000 housing units with Irish investors

Cross River has just concluded plans with Irish investors to build 5,000 housing units across the state.

Barely two weeks after the state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, led a trade delegation to the Republic of Ireland, Cross River State Government has set to build 5,000 housing units with the help of Irish investors.

Reports say that property developers from Ireland arrived in Calabar last week to seal the housing deal.

Governor Ben says that the partnership between the state government and an Irish building firm, Affordable Building Concept International, is part of the plans his administration has to provide affordable and comfortable shelter for the poor in the state.

“The investors will come with their technology and expertise and set up a factory where low cost housing will be designed and the houses set up in less than three days.”

He also revealed that the housing units will be divided into three categories in order to cater for all the needs and tastes of the people.
