Vanguard reports that the ex- governor was arrested by men of the anti-graft agency on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the public presentation of a book in Abuja.

Confirming the arrest, spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said: “What is there to confirm? It is true.”

Turaki, who was in office between 1999 and 2007, was declared wanted by the agency in 2014 after allegedly failing to attend a fraud charge trial since 2011.
