Though the release from Clarence House only says they'll marry in Spring of 2018, it has now been revealed that the pair's marriage will hold on May 26, 2018 at St George’s Chapel, which is nestled within the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The selected weekend offers a break from royal tradition and is also the beginning of Spring Bank Holiday weekend in England which affords the opportunity to party for a solid three days!
In a statement released by Clarence House, it has been said that:
"Her Majesty The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at the Chapel.
“The Royal Family will pay for the wedding.”
The venue, St George’s Chapel offers the couple a more low key affair than Westminster Abbey, where Kate Middleton and Prince William got married in 2011.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship had largely been kept under wraps since they began dating in 2016 but the announcement confirms what has so far been an open secret - Meghan Markle will be the first black member of the British royal family.
The 36-year-old American actress has also been invited to spend Christmas with the Queen, the first ever fiancée to be offered such opportunity according to ABC News.
