Fifty Shades of Grey: Could This Be Anastasia Steele?

The hunt for the perfect Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey rages on and with shooting for the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie slated to start by October, the search is currently at a fever pitch. The latest name to come up for the role of Anastasia Steele is Dakota Johnson, a fashion model and budding actress who is best known for her role in the movie 'The Social Network'.

While Dakota is still a relatively unknown actress, she's had a stint in the modelling world which industry watchers believe equips her with some experience and skill of facing cameras in the nude or at least scantily clad and as fans of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' trilogy would agree, this is a very important skill as the novel contains a healthy does of nudity and erotica.

Although the role of the male lead character, Christian Grey hasn't been cast, it is believed that the role of Anastasia is expected to be cast first after which Christian would be cast. There's no doubt that the roles, much like that of Twilight would be a career-booster for all those who feature in the movie particularly those in the lead roles. Currently, asides minor roles and a modelling career, Dakota's only claim to fame are her famous actor parents, Melanie Griffith and (Miami Vice). She's also the stepdaughter of Antonio Banderas as her mother Melanie is currently married to the Spanish actor.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' which is a romantic/erotic novel about the relationship between a fresh university graduate and a billionaire businessman quickly gained a cult following after its release in 2012 sparking a lot of conversation around the world over its strong sexual scenes and exploration of BDSM. Following the huge interest the novel sparked, it was soon announced that the novel would be adapted into a movie and the hunt has been on for the perfect individuals to play the lead roles ever since. Already Universal studios has been announced as producers while Samuel Taylor-Johnson and Kelly Marcel have been selected as director and scriptwriter respectively.

The movie is slated to hit theatres in 2014. In the meantime, what do you think, does Dakota Johnson fit the bill as Anastasia Steele?
