A special church service has been held for murdered British hostage Alan Henning in his home town.
Memorial Service Held For Beheaded British Aid Worker
A video which showed Alan Henning's brutal murder in the hands of his captors after he was kidnapped last December in Syria was posted on the Internet on Friday night by terrorist sect, ISIS.
Henning's widow, Barbara was joined by family members and friends at the service of at Eccles Parish Church in Salford, Greater Manchester.
The Telegraph reports that people of all religions were invited to the service where music was played and candles were lit.
The Church of England Diocese of Manchester said:
Reports say Barbara Henning, their family and friends were after receiving the news that Alan had been beheaded by his Islamic State captors.
She thanked everyone who took part in campaigns and vigils at home and abroad for the aid worker's release but appealed for privacy after receiving .
