How RCCG G.O came up with Hallelujah theme for 2017 convention
See why RCCG G.O settled on this theme for the recently concluded 65th Annual Convention.
According to Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, he only decided to use it after God told him that it what it should be.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) General Overseer, also announced that this divine revelation took place while he was praying about it in August 2017.
Premium Times reports that Adeboye made these statements on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, during his message at the welcome service.
He went on to shed some light on the meaning of this theme.
The RCCG G.O said he was excited after God spoke with him because of what “Hallelujah” stands for.
Adeboye stated that it gives people access to blessings after they praise God, adding that any participant of the ongoing convention is already a candidate for His blessings.
In his words, “the heavy presence of the One who inhabits praises will so saturate everywhere on the Camp ground there will be physical and spiritual healing for all who participate.”
Continuing with his sermon, he referred to Psalm 100, which says: “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name…”
Pastor Adeboye encouraged people to enter with praise and thanksgiving in order to have access to the treasures behind the gates.
He also urged people to shout Hallelujah so that they can receive His touch.
The G.O ended his message with an altar call and advised everyone not to forget to thank God for their blessings.
This happened on Tuesday night. The next day, 5,658 people passed out from the Redeemed Christian Bible College in a graduation ceremony.
Singer Obiwon was one of them.
The convention ended with a thanksgiving service on August 13, 2017.
