World Bank to assist oil palm processors

World Bank to assist oil palm processors in Edo - FADAMA Coordinator

The Growth Employment (GEM) Project, a World Bank assisted project, has promised to give grant to oil palm processors in Edo to boost production of quality palm.

Mr Edward Izevbigie, the state project coordinator of FADAMA 111, gave this promise in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Benin.

According to him, the objective of the project is to upscale the value chain of oil palm production.

The project coordinator said that the approach is to provide technical assistance and advisory services to oil palm processors in the state.

He added that the project would also provide grants to the oil processors to upgrade their machines and procure new ones.

The FADAMA coordinator said that 40 representatives from the oil palm processors industrial cluster group were selected to benefit from the programme.
