Minister says seaports will be reconnected with railways
Rotimi Amaechi, Minister for transportation during a meeting with port professionals in Lagos stated that in bid to support diversification of the economy, sea ports will be connected with railway transport system to boost economic activities.
Employment opportunities tend to increase as the construction of the Lagos-Kano and possibly the Lagos-Calabar railway project should kick off by June or July 2016 upon implementation of the budget.
Following the completion of the railway-seaport projects, Apapa and Tin Can railways will experience termination in order to encourage inter-modal means of transportation and also be able to import from Port Harcourt sea port, Calabar sea port, Warri Sea Port among other sea ports in the country.
