New Chipolopolo coach ahead of Super Eagles

Igesund's first job for Zambia will be to take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday, October 9 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Zambia national team has been managed by interim coach Goerge Lwandamina but the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) are set to appoint former South Africa coach, Gordon Igesund.

A former player himself, Igesund is famous in South Africa for winning four Premier Soccer League titles with different clubs.

The 60-year-old was appointed coach of the South African national team in 2012 and left in 2014 at the end of his contract.

He was fired from his last job which was with Super Sports United in January 2017.

If appointed, his first job for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations champions will be to take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday, October 9 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Zambia will also play Algeria and Cameroon in the qualifiers.
