Yan Diomande Shuts Out Transfer Rumors to Focus on World Cup: "I've Left Everything to My Agent"
Ivory Coast's 19-year-old sensation, Yan Diomande, has stated he remains unfazed by transfer speculation linking him with a move from RB Leipzig to Paris Saint-Germain. The young forward has left his agent to handle any offers, as he has no access to the internet, Instagram, or TikTok.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Ivory Coast's World Cup Round of 16 clash against Norway, Diomande emphasized his complete focus on the upcoming match at the Dallas stadium.
"I don't have internet, Instagram, TikTok, or anything like that, so my agent handles all discussions with my club," he shared. "This is a fantastic opportunity to play in the World Cup, and I want to make the most of it. I'm staying focused on that and truly want to enjoy the tournament as much as possible."
Ivory Coast has reached the knockout stage of the World Cup for the first time in their history, having finished second in Group E behind Germany.
Elephants' head coach, Emerse Faé, confirmed that defender Wilfried Singo would not be fully fit to play after sustaining a thigh injury in the loss to Germany. The good news is that Evan Ndicka is available after missing the group stage matches.
Faé expressed respect for Norway's collective style of play and was quick to praise their star player, Erling Haaland, who has already netted four goals in two matches.
"They are a good, organized team with great individual talents, but they play exceptionally well together. They are very intense, dictate the rhythm of the game, and are extremely pragmatic," the coach commented. "They don't need five or six chances to score; they are precise in front of goal."
Regarding Haaland, Faé added: "There's no need for me to talk about him; everyone knows him. He's a top player with a lot of energy. When you watch him, he seems very proud to play for his country. It's clear he's an example to others. He can shoot from any situation and create a scoring opportunity. Norway is lucky to have him. He's a special footballer, and it's a pleasure to watch him."
When asked how his team would counter the Norwegian threat, the specialist confidently replied: "We have our strengths, and we know how to play. We will meet the physical challenge and try to control the game, imposing our tempo."
