The APC governorship candidate reportedly arrived at the secretariat today, November 30, 2015, for a meeting with party leaders.

Bello’s nomination has attracted controversy since he was chosen to replace the son of late Prince Abubakar Audu, Mohammed as the party’s candidate.

The older Audu had represented the party in the November 21 election and was in the lead before his death on November 22.

Bello’s nomination is being challenged by Audu’s running mate, James Faleke who was also chosen to run alongside the former.

Faleke, also today, told a group of his supporters in Lokoja, that he would reclaim the party’s mandate while announcing that Mohammed Audu would be his running mate

Meanwhile, APC leader, Bola Tinubu is said to have thrown his weight behind Faleke and rejected Bello.

The supplementary polls in the state will be held on December 5 after the initial election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
