World Cup Trophy to Arrive at Final in Special Case

The World Cup trophy will arrive at Sunday's final in a custom-designed case by French fashion house Louis Vuitton, FIFA announced.

The French luxury brand will present the bespoke official trophy trunk, crafted to transport and display the sport's most iconic prize for the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey, the global football governing body added in a statement hours before the tournament's first semi-final between France and Spain.

Fans immediately voiced criticism online, arguing that the World Cup is becoming overly commercialized. Louis Vuitton has previously supplied the trophy cases for the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 championships.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that US President Donald Trump will present the trophy on Sunday, BTA reports.
