Manchester United captain welcomes third son with wife, Coleen

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has welcomed his third son with his wife, Coleen.

Rooney and his wife Coleen took to Twitter to announce the birth of their new son on Sunday, January 24 just a day after he played in Manchester United 1-0 loss to Southampton.

"Our gorgeous little boy arrived today. Kit Joseph Rooney. 8Ib 1oz. We are over the moon,' Rooney and his wife tweeted.

Rooney met his wife, Coleen, while both were at secondary school.

They married in June 2008 after six years of dating; the other two kids are are Kai born November 2009 and Klay Anthony, born on May 2013.
