While it may seem obvious that you're never supposed to squeeze a cyst with your fingers, there are clearly some exceptions to the rule. At least, there are if you also happen to be a trained dermatologist.

In her newest Instagram video , dermatologist Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-aka, Dr. Pimple Popper-finally meets a cyst so big that her usual c omedone extractor tools can't handle it. Given no other choice, she gets down and dirty: "I'm just going to have to squeeze it," she says.

If that sounds like music to your ears, then you certainly won't be disappointed by the discharge that oozes forth from behind the patient's ear. "It's like a millium that became a cyst," she says. "It's a little cyst, that's for sure. Just more superficial, and it got a little bigger."

Millium-also called milia-for those who haven't been keeping up with this series, are "small, bump-like cysts found under the skin," according to Medical News Today. And we say small, we mean small: Typically they're around 1 to 2 millimeters wide, and more commonly appear in clusters near the cheeks and eyelids.

Since this appears to be a recurring problem for her patient, Dr. Lee alludes to a more invasive solution. "It's because you have to take out this little sac that it's contained in," she says.

Thankfully, most people don't reach that point while sitting in the chair of a doctor's office. As dermatologist Dr. Anjali Mahto told Elle , you can usually prevent these types of breakouts by taking steps such as exfoliating regularly and incorporating retinol-based products into your evening skincare regimen.
