Sunday Oliseh says captain's withdrawal leaves Super Eagles in a 'complicated position'

Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh says the withdrawal of captain and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama leaves Nigeria in a complicated position.

Oliseh during a media parley on Wednesday, September 2 revealed that Enyeama opted out of the game citing personal reasons.

“The player asked to be excused from the game and that has left us in a complicated situation but that doesn’t mean that without a player Nigeria won’t play this weekend,” Oliseh said before adding that Eagles will be fine without their captain.

“He’s a very classy goalkeeper but obviously we will not allow that deter us from our objectives.”

Enyimba FC goalkeeper Femi Thomas has been called up as a late replacement for the withdrawn captain, Enyeama.
