San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama has opened up about what motivates him and discussed the goals he has set for himself in basketball.
"My passion is to change history. I work for myself, but that goal is definitely very high on my list," the French superstar stated.
He explained that this drive originated in his childhood and continued to develop over time.
"In France, it's taboo to declare that you're going to play in the NBA. Generally, that's the case when you talk about your future as a professional athlete. You need an inner fire, a desire. But society tries to suppress it," Wembanyama commented.
"In the US, there are thousands of other issues; this is just one aspect of ours. People in the States are crazy; they do crazy things. That's why the mentality of American and French players is so different," the Spurs basketball player concluded.
