Super Eagles forward Victor Moses joined the Upton Park based side on a season loan deal from Chelsea and Tomkins is delighted with the capture of the 24-year-old.

“I know Victor Moses well fairly well from our time playing together for England,” Tomkins told the West Ham website.

“He was brilliant for Stoke last season and is a nightmare to mark. The lads have already seen that in training. He can be a match winner on his day and I will try and help him settle in as I know him well.

“He is a similar age to me and he wants to play games. He is playing for a massive club like Chelsea and they have offered him a new deal which shows what they think of him.

“But for him to come here and play first-team football is something he is seeking to do.

“I think it is good business for the club and we have strengthened areas of the squad that we needed to and it was great recruitment.”

The 24-year-old, who spent the last season on loan with Stoke City, scored three goals in 19 Premier League appearances for the Potters last season, helping them to their highest ever league finish of 9th place.
