The rapper beat Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Bisa Kdei, VVIP and SP Kofi Sarpong to win the award.

The singer opened the event with his award winning ‘Koko’ track.

Sarkodie and Bisa Kdei won four awards each, while Nigerian pop singer Wizkid goes home with African Artiste of The Year.

The 17th edition of the music awards scheme was held at the Accra International Conference Center.Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Efya, EL, R2Bees, Wizkid, Joe Mettle and Adomaa performed at the event which was hosted by Chris Attoh, DJ Black and Naa Ashorkor.

In another twist, Wizkid on picking up his 'African Artiste of the Year Award' came out to publicly announce thesigning of some of the biggest Ghanaian acts ncluding soul singer Efya, duo R2Bees, and Mr Eazi to 'Starboy Worldwide'.  He also added that Paedae of R2bees aka Omar Sterling, is the President of the newly-expanded Starboy imprint.
