Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey discussed the team's hierarchy ahead of the 2026/27 season, where they enter as one of the title favorites.
"Shot selection will depend on the situation. We have confidence in a lot of guys. People might say V.J. Edgecombe is our fifth option, but last year he often attacked in crucial moments and delivered. There were times when I was double-teamed, Embiid was double-teamed, and we'd get him the ball, and he had to convert those opportunities," Maxey stated.
"So, the ball will be in different people's hands. We'll see how things unfold, how they develop," he added.
"The main thing is that everyone on the Sixers will have to set their egos aside. We have two regular-season MVP award winners, two Finals MVPs, several gold medalists. Players who score 25-plus points per game, All-Stars, members of All-NBA teams. We've all achieved a lot. Nobody on this team can have an ego," Maxey further commented.
