The last time Tiger Woods won a PGA Tour major, Donald Trump was still running his company and hosting The Celebrity Apprentice. Woods, meanwhile, was busy dealing with competition like Rocco Mediate and Lee Westwood at the 2008 U.S. Open. Eleven years later, things sure have changed for the both of them.

Yesterday, Woods completed his comeback from both physical injuries and obvious personal demons to win the 2019 Masters Tournament. Not long after his victory, President Trump felt compelled to congratulate Woods with a tweet, adding that Woods would be the recipient of one of the highest civilian awards of the United States.

Woods and the President have a long history, and Trump has often tweeted about Woods' golf game. In February, he tweeted a photo of himself playing with both Woods and the one man who leads Woods in major victories, Jack Nicklaus:

Tiger has not returned the love quite yet:

It's not the craziest thing to see Woods honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. While historically it's not given to athletes who are still in their prime, past recipients have included Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Billie Jean King, Muhammad Ali, Arnold Palmer, and Hank Aaron.
