Japanese carmaker set to unveil map-generating system for self-driving cars

Toyota is unveiling a map-generating system for self-driving cars, next month.

According to the Japanese carmaker, this will “assist in hazard avoidance” by using the data from cameras and GPS units installed in production cars to build accurate maps.

This new technology will be found in 2020.

Yahoo reports that the system will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Two weeks ago, the auto manufacturer announced that it has outsold Volkswagen and is currently leading the global car sales for October.
