Torreense learn Europa Cup round of 16 opponents

Torreense have learned their opponents for the Europa Cup round of 16. Having knocked out Ukrainian side FC Kharkiv, the Torres Vedras outfit will take on Sparta Prague of Czechia, following the draw held on Friday at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Making their debut in European competition, the Portuguese side also discovered their potential route to the final. Should they overcome their Czech opponents, Torreense will face the winners of the tie between Norway's Brann and Poland's Czarni Sosnowiec in the quarter-finals.

The round of 16 is scheduled to be played on October 28 or 29 for the first leg, with the second leg taking place on November 10 or 11. If they progress, Torreense will contest the quarter-finals on February 3/4 and 10/11, 2027.

The semi-finals are slated for March 23/24 and March 31 or April 1, while the two-legged final is set for May 1/2 and 8/9, 2027.

Torreense kicked off their European campaign in the Champions League, suffering a 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the second qualifying round. A 5-2 victory over Apolonia Fier in the following match saw the side transition into the Europa Cup, where they have since eliminated Kolos Kovalivka (9-2 on aggregate) and FC Kharkiv (6-2 on aggregate). Now standing as Portugal's sole representative following Sporting's elimination, the Torres Vedras outfit gear up to face Sparta Prague.
