Romo underwent successful surgery and has a slated recovery period of 6-8 weeks, the team announced on Tuesday.

The surgery was a preventative measure for Romo.

Scans showed the bone healed on its own since he broke it in November, but Romo opted for the surgery to strengthen his collarbone, which he has broken three times since 2010.

Normally, organised team activities for NFL teams start towards the end of May, with minicamps occurring in June.
