Born into poverty in a tiny town in Philippines, Manny Pacquiao left home at the age of 14 to begin his journey to the top.

The story of his long way to stardom has been revealed in a series of photos which have been published over the last few days.

The photos show Pacquiao training at the LM Gym in Manila in 1996 at the age of 17 after he won his first 10 professional bouts.

He is now one of the most recognised sportsmen in the word and is set to battle Floyd Mayweather in the richest boxing match of all time.
