When questioned about reports claiming he has a contract until 2027, James responded with a powerful metaphor.

- They also say Elvis is still alive - he quipped.

He then directly dismissed any possibility of remaining in the Principality after this season.

No. I haven't signed anywhere, and I haven't spoken to anyone. I'm only focused on finishing the season.

James joined Monaco in 2021 and swiftly elevated the club's profile. He transformed them into a perennial EuroLeague contender, became the competition's all-time leading scorer, won the 2024 EuroLeague MVP award, and led the team to two Final Fours, in 2023 and 2025, including their first-ever final in the elite competition.
