Toriola, Quadri and Abiodun beaten by Chinese counterparts in Rio

Nigerian tennis players, Segun Toriola, Aruna Quadri and Bode Abiodun were on Friday, August 12, beaten by their Chinese counterparts in the first round of Men’s Table Tennis event of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Nigeria’s Tennis team fell 3-0 to the Chinese team led by Long Ma who has already won Gold in the Men’s Single Tennis event.
Seven-time Olympian Toriola was the first to Xin Xu and lost 3-0 before Quadri who was beaten my Ma in the quarter-finals of the Men’s Single Tennis event fell 3-1 to the Chinese man again.
For the third game, Abiodun partnered with Toriola but they fell 3-0 to Xu and Jike Zhang.
This brings to an end Nigeria’s participation in the Table Tennis event of Rio 2016.
