Taiwo Awoniyi gathering Momentum for Union Berlin.
The Nigerian striker is becoming one of the Bundesliga's hottest strikers as he hit his seventh goal of the season when his team, Union Berlin, were hosted by Stuttgart. Awoniyi is in really good form as this goal was his 6th in his last 5 appearances in all competitions. He has also equaled his best tally in a league season with only 9 matches played yet.
The 24 year old secured a permanent move to the Iron Ones after spending last season on loan with them in Germany and he is already proving a shrewd investment for them. Although his goal was not enough to earn his team the win on the day but he will be happy they at least held on to a vital point.
Awoniyi's goals have presented Union Berlin with a high flying opening to the season, surpassing all set expectations prior to the beginning of the season. He will look to still build on these performances when they go into action against SV Waldhof during the week in the DFB Pokal competition.
The Super Eagles forward will not be relenting on these performances as he will be aiming to represent the national team at the AFCON finals next year. His competition will be the world class Victor Osimhen who has also been in red hot form for Napoli in the Serie A. His week on week performances have indicated that he will not make it easy for Osimhen to pick up a starting spot on the Super Eagles team while also raising his own stock in Europe.
Bigger teams will surely start to circle if he can keep up this form for a sustained period and help his team to further climb up the Bundesliga table.
