Amaju Pinnick led NFF has been hindered by the lack of financial strength in their quest to hire a foreign coach for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

NNPC has however come to the aid of the federation who is set to unveil Frenchman Paul Le Guenas the new coach of the Super Eagles.

Sources close to the NFF have revealed that the body has secured a $1.5 million bond (N517m) from the government-owned oil corporation NNPC, which will help them finance the service of the new Super Eagles coach.

Le Guen, several reports have suggested, is favourite to get the job after agreeing a N16.2m per month deal with the NFF.

The Federal Government through the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung has made it clear that they would not help the NFF with funds to pay a foreign coach.

The NFF on Friday, July 8 unveiled a three-man shortlist for the position of the Super Eagles coach.

Frenchman Le Guen, Belgian Tom Sainfiet and current temporary coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf will be interviewed by the NFF before the successful candidate will be announced on Monday, July 18.

The main target of the new Super Eagles coach would be to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

For the qualification series, Nigeria has been placed in the same group as Cameroun, Algeria and Zambia.
