Captain of the Super Eagles, Mikel and his compatriot Ighalo all moved to the Chinese Super League, the former joining Tianjin TEDA from Chelsea while the latter signed for Changchun Yatai.

While many believe they made the moves to get bigger money, Super Eagles coach Rohr insists that the two players are going to be playing competitive football in China.

“Our players who didn’t play in their clubs will now play football in China,” the Super Eagles coach said in an interview with Toyin Ibitoye.

“They play good football in China, it’s not a small championship0 in China, and they have some good players.”

“We have some good news, Ndidi (Wilfred) in Leicester playing very well, Musa Muhammed is going to Bosnia so he can play much more than he played in Turkey.”

Rohr is set to embark on a trip to Europe to meet his players especially those who joined new clubs in the January transfer window.
