Capable of playing on either wing, as a number 10, or as a secondary striker, Irankunda has indeed been scouted by Sporting, as confirmed by A BOLA. Standing at 1.75 meters and weighing 75 kilograms, the Australian contributed four goals and four assists in 42 appearances for the Championship club last season.

During his World Cup campaign with Australia, he played in four matches, notably scoring a goal in their 2-0 group stage victory over Turkey.

With Pedro Gonçalves's departure looming, Sporting is actively seeking to reinforce the left flank of their attack. This is also the position from which Faye is expected to move on, while Jesse Derry has already arrived on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.
