Lindsey Vonn suffers small fracture to her ankle
Lindsey Vonn's injury curse struck again when she suffered a "small fracture" in her ankle during training in New Zealand on Thursday.
The 30-year-old recovered from serious knee injuries to become the most successful female World Cup alpine skier of all time as she won the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup downhill and super-G titles earlier this year.
Vonn had missed the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi during a frustrating spell on the sidelines as she was blighted by major knee injuries.
The legendary has now suffered another blow, but is optimistic her latest setback will not keep her off the slopes for too long.
Vonn revealed on her Facebook page: "Hey guys, I unfortunately crashed today while training in New Zealand.
"I have a small fracture in my ankle and have to head back to the States now. I will let you know when I have more info. Xo Lv ‪# minorsetback‬‪# cantslowmedown‬."
