According to American media reports, the arrest occurred early Saturday morning. Police officials stated that a handgun, for which the player did not possess a permit, was found in Harden's vehicle. Compounding the situation, the weapon was in plain sight and not secured in a holster, leading to his immediate apprehension.
However, the NBA star will not spend time behind bars pending trial. Harden was released on bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for June 22nd. Until then, the basketball player must adhere to extremely strict conditions imposed by the court.
The bail conditions explicitly prohibit him from possessing any firearms or ammunition. Furthermore, Harden is banned from consuming alcohol, marijuana, and all other dangerous substances, except those prescribed by a doctor. To ensure compliance, the basketball player will be subject to random urine tests.
For now, the veteran guard's camp remains completely silent. The well-known American portal TMZ reported attempts to contact Harden and his legal team, but no official comment or statement regarding the incident has yet been received.
