Sergio Aguero hit five goals in Manchester City’s 6-1 thrashing of struggling Newcastle united.
City had lost their last two league games and fell behind in Saturday, October 3 clash with Newcastle in the 18th minute when Serbian forward Aleksandr Mitrovic headed in Georgino Wijnaldum's cross.
Mitrovic had the ball in the net again soon after, but it was ruled out for offside.
City were finding it hard to comeback into the game but were delivered by 42nd minute equaliser by Aguero.
Fernandinho headed a David Silva into the path of the striker to nod in for his first of the afternoon.
Newcastle went into half time level with City but Aguero had other plans.
He struck his second in the 49th minute after Chancel Mbemba lost possession in the middle to Kevin De Bruyne who combined with Silva to pass to Aguero whose shot took a slight from Yoan Gouffran past Tim Krul to hand City the lead.
He completed his hattrick just a minute later, lofting a through ball from De Bruyne into the net.
That was the fifth quickest hattrick in the history of the English Premier League.
It was time for De Bruyne to score a contender for the League goal of the season with a volley.
Aguero bagged his fifth with a low curled finish from the angle of the 18-yard box.
The Argentine joins the likes of Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov as the only other Premier League players to have scored five goals in one game.
