Turkey is a team that aims for the top, so we expect a demanding group stage. We hope to do everything in our power to navigate this first phase with as many wins as possible.Saša Ocokoljić, Head Coach of the Serbian U18 National Team
In addition to Slovakia and Turkey, Denmark is also in the Young Eagles' group.
- Denmark, like Slovakia, is certainly a tricky opponent. These are teams that play very aggressively with a lot of running. On paper, they might seem like underdogs, but they definitely aren't. We have some information; we've gathered everything we could, Ocokoljić added.
To recap, the following players traveled to Italy: Vuk Danilović, Nikola Karalić, Đorđe Gnjato, Đorđe Lilić, Jovan Bikić, Vuk Savičić, Luka Roganović, Luka Živojinović, Lazar Maksić, Aleksej Ivković, Andrej Bjelić, Andrija Šušić.
I am most satisfied with the approach and attitude of all the guys. We started our journey to Italy with 18 names. We had some minor injuries during preparations. Generally, all the guys gave their absolute maximum. Given that the team's profile doesn't include many tall players, our game is based on high intensity, full-court pressure, pressing opposing guards, and disrupting entry passes. We practiced a lot of transition play, which required us to be in good, strong, and quality training. We had 31-32 good days of work, and I am most satisfied with the effort, approach, and maximum commitment shown in both training and games. I believe we got the most out of this phase.Saša Ocokoljić, Head Coach of the Serbian U18 National Team
Good luck, Young Eagles!
