Seahawks' Jimmy Graham out for the season due to knee injury
Jimmy Graham's first season with the Seattle Seahawks is over after the tight end suffered a serious knee injury.
Graham was carted off the field on Sunday with an aircast on his right leg after a gruesome injury early in the fourth quarter against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaking after his team's 39-30 win, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Graham would miss the rest of the season.
"Jimmy did hurt his patellar tendon today and they tell me already that he's going to have to have surgery on that," Carroll said.
"We've loved Jimmy Graham coming to our team and we're very grateful that he's been a part of it and we're going to miss the heck out of him the rest of the season."
Graham tried to out-jump Steelers cornerback Antwon Blake for a Russell Wilson pass from the Steelers' 24-yard line, but his right foot got pinned underneath him to cause his knee to turn awkwardly.
He had four catches for 75 yards before the injury and finished with 48 receptions for 505 yards and two scores this season.
