Sarah Polleros is the latest signing for Benfica for the 2026/27 season. The 24-year-old German international joins to bolster the wing and post positions.
The athlete arrives at Luz after two seasons in Spanish basketball, where she represented Lointek Gernika Bizkaia last season. With this club, she competed in the top Spanish division and the EuroCup Women, reaching the round of 16 in the latter.
During her time in Spain, Sarah Polleros previously worked under the guidance of Ricardo Vasconcelos, Benfica's current coach, when both were at CD Zamarat.
Her career also includes stints in German basketball, where she won a League title and a Cup with Herner TC, a club with which she also participated in the EuroCup Women. Subsequently, she also played for Hannover.
A regular in the German national team call-ups, Polleros recently participated in the qualification phase for EuroBasket 2025. Her international history also includes representing Germany's U16 and U20 national teams in European championships.
In addition to Polleros, the 'Encarnados' squad has also reinforced with Maianca Umabano, Inês Neto, Josephine Filipe, and Ana Barreto.
