The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has promised the safe return of the abducted mother of Nigeria’s U-23 side, Samson Siasia.

Mother of the Dream Team IV coach, Madam Ogere Siasia was on Monday, November 16 abducted from her house in Odoni village, Saghama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to several reports, unknown gunmen in the early hours of the day forced their way through the back door and took the woman before fleeing with a motorbike.

The IG of police Solomon Arase speaking from Ibadan on Wednesday, November 18 assured that his men would soon rescue the 72-year-old.

Arase said this during a visit to Oyo State governor Abiola Ajimobi.

He revealed that his men police are were working round the clock to ensure the safe return of Siasia’s mum.

Arase revealed that the main challenge the police are facing-which is the terrain-has been overcome and that the police will soon recover the woman.

“The difficulty we have initially is the terrain in that area. Mostly, the abductors come through the riverine areas but we are working and overcoming that and I can assure you that she will be released very soon,” Arase is quoted to say by Sun.
