Undefeated in his UFC career thus far, Salkild faced his toughest test on Saturday. However, aside from an early leg lock attempt by Gamrot in the first round, the Australian dominated the top-10 veteran.

After outstriking Gamrot on the feet, Salkild decided to showcase his ground skills, executing a perfectly timed takedown and eventually taking his opponent's back. It was there that Salkild applied a rear-naked choke, forcing Gamrot to tap out. The fight concluded at 4:25 of the first round.

With this win, Salkild extended his overall winning streak to 13 consecutive victories, including six straight inside the UFC octagon.

"It feels f***ing good," Salkild declared after the victory. "I just proved I'm a real threat. That's just how I fight. I want to pressure you where you think you're safe. I want to use every weapon in my arsenal. I believe I can finish the fight in the first minute or the last."

From the outset, Salkild began finding his range, forcing Gamrot to defend on the feet. A straight punch from Salkild rocked Gamrot, prompting him to shoot for a takedown. Salkild reacted quickly but couldn't fully escape the Polish fighter's grip, who then attempted an ankle lock on the ground. Salkild eventually broke free and immediately resumed striking.

Subsequently, Salkild surprisingly initiated a takedown, aiming to take Gamrot's back and hunt for a submission. Gamrot defended well but remained in a disadvantageous position with Salkild on his back, actively seeking a choke.

The choke wasn't applied directly under the chin, but the pressure was so intense that Gamrot had no choice but to tap. Thus, Salkild secured another impressive victory, earning a $100,000 bonus and continuing his ascent in the lightweight rankings.

"I don't care," Salkild responded when asked about his next opponent. "As long as it's someone in the top five. I think I deserve someone in the top five or close to it."
