Castleford Tigers beat Leeds Rhinos in Super League
Leeds Rhinos missed the chance to go three points clear at the top of Super League as Denny Solomona scored two tries in Castleford Tigers' surprise 31-24 win at Headingley.
Leeds held a slender one-point advantage over St Helens heading into Thursday's encounter and they were unable to extend that lead as the Tigers produced a stunning display against their Yorkshire rivals.
Converted tries from Grant Millington, Liam Finn and Michael Shenton - who passed 500 points for the club when he crossed - put the visitors 18-0 up after only 15 minutes.
The Rhinos rallied to cut the deficit to 18-16 at half-time, with Carl Ablett making amends for an earlier error by going over before Ryan Hall and inspiration prop Adam Cuthbertson got in on the act.
Shenton then impressively set up Solomona for his first try six minutes after the break, with Luke Gale again adding the extras to put Cas eight points to the good.
Jimmy Keinhorst's try pegged the Tigers back again - with Kevin Sinfield converting soon after coming on. Sinfield then sent over a penalty to level 10 minutes from time.
Cas were not to be denied, though, as Liam Finn put them back in front with a drop-goal and Solomona capitalised on a handling error from Ash Handley to seal a fine win.
