The Portuguese National Team's stay in Palm Beach has concluded. After using the Florida city as their operational base throughout the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Portugal is now preparing to enter the knockout phase of the competition.
The final day on Floridian soil was marked by a symbolic gesture from the Portuguese delegation, who thanked the hotel staff for the hospitality received over the past weeks. Cristiano Ronaldo also acknowledged the moment. On social media, the Portuguese captain posted a farewell message directed at Palm Beach: "Thank you, Palm Beach."
However, the focus quickly shifted to the next challenge. Hours later, Ronaldo posted again, this time with a group photo of the National Team and a clear message ahead of their trip to Canada: "Toronto, we are ready."
It is precisely in Canada's largest city that Portugal will face Croatia in a Round of 16 match, marking the beginning of the knockout stage.
The move to Toronto also signifies a change in the Portuguese team's logistics. With the group stage over, the National Team will no longer have a permanent headquarters and will travel according to the matches they play. If they continue in the competition, Portugal could still pass through cities like Dallas and Los Angeles before a potential appearance in the final, scheduled for New Jersey.
