In a scrappy Group One race, the Clive Brittain-trained filly emerged from the pack in the closing stages to secure a third win in three Ascot starts and bounce back from a disappointing display in May's 1,000 Guineas - a race in which she was tipped to shine but finished seventh.

Lesstalk In Paris made a burst down the outside to claim second by a nose from Euro Charline in a result that sent Brittain dancing around the winner's circle.

Lightning Thunder - favourite at the off - failed to live up to expectations, though, finishing down in ninth.

Elsewhere in the field, Kieren Fallon had a race to forget aboard Rosalind, who unseated her jockey just moments into the contest.

Bold Sniper - owned by Queen Elizabeth II - entered the Wolferton Handicap as favourite, but failed to deliver a winner for the British monarch.

That honour went to Contributer, who burst from the pack to edge the royal contender into second, while Cafe Society rounded off the top three.

Eagle Top took the spoils in the King Edward VII Stakes, while a strong late run from American filly Cursory Glance proved enough to win the Albany Stakes from Sunset Glow and Patience Alexander.

The victory was a first at Royal Ascot for jockey Andrea Atzeni.

In the day"s remaining races, Hartnell beat Century and favourite Marzocco to win the Queen"s Vase, while Louis the Pious upset the odds to triumph in the Buckingham Palace Stakes.
