Australia assistant coach Luc Longley was pleased with Andrew Bogut's return in their final warm-up game before the Rio Olympics.

The Dallas Mavericks center played nine minutes in the Boomers' 82-53 win over China as he continues his recovery from a knee injury suffered during the NBA Finals in June.

Bogut is fighting to be fit for the Games, with his team taking on France in their opener in Brazil on Saturday.

Longley was satisfied with what he saw from the one-time NBA champion, who was largely expected to miss the Olympics.

"Your first game back from an injury is always difficult but we're happy with how he moved with and without the ball," Longley said.

Bogut had three rebounds, an assist and three turnovers in his brief return, which was a huge boost for Australia.

The Boomers also face the United States, Venezuela, Serbia and China in Group A.
