The world's fastest man crossed the line in 19.78 seconds on Friday, August 19 (Nigerian time).

Andre de Grasse of Canada took silver, while Christophe Lemaitre finished third to claim bronze for France.

Having won three Olympic gold medals in both the 100 and 200 metres, Bolt becomes the third athlete in Olympic history to win two individual events at three Olympics.
