Team Nigeria day 8 review (Saturday, August 13)
Despite finishing second in Final D of Women’s Singles Sculls event, Chierika Ukogu did not finish with a medal as he time of 7:44.76 meant she finished 20th in the overall final result. She is however the first Nigerian to ever compete in this event.

Nigeria’s duo of Margaret Bamgbose and Patience Okon-George qualified for the semis of the women’s 400m, but Seye Ogunlewe and Ogho-Oghene Egwero lost out in Men’s 100m.
Blessing Okagbare could not qualify for the final of women’s 100m semis. She finished 3rd in heat 3 with a time of 11.17s which was not enough to qualify.
After getting disqualified in 800m Heptathlon, Uhunoma Osazuwa finished 29th overall with a total of 4916 points.
D’Tigers recorded their first victory in Rio by beating Croatia. A win against Brazil in their next game will take them to the quarterfinals.
In just one round,  Efe Ajagba knocked out his Trinidad & Tobago opponent and qualify for the quarterfinals of the men’s Super Heavyweight 91kg category.
Nigeria’s U-23 got back to winning ways, beating Denmark 2-0 to progress to the semi-finals of the football event.
