Rift Between Campazzo and Real Madrid: Argentine Unhappy, Departure from Madrid Possible!
Facundo Campazzo was a cornerstone for Real Madrid and Sergio Scariolo last season, and despite being 35 years old, he remained the primary playmaker for the 'Kings' this year.
However, this doesn't guarantee his stay with the Madrid club, even though he has a contract for the upcoming season. Real Madrid reportedly offered Campazzo a new deal, but rumors suggest the former Crvena Zvezda player is dissatisfied with the terms.
It's no secret that Real Madrid tends to reduce salaries for aging players, a situation previously seen with Sergio Llull and Fabien Causeur, and now it's repeating with Campazzo.
This season, he was one of four point guards, alongside Theo Maledon, Andreas Feliz, and the aforementioned Llull. However, Real Madrid is questioning what kind of player the Argentine will be in two or three years. This led to their offer of less money, and it remains to be seen whether Campazzo will ultimately accept or if a departure is imminent.
Incidentally, Real Madrid will face Hapoel Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague quarterfinals, and the legendary club, which last claimed the European title in 2023, will have home-court advantage.
