Red Star Knows Quarter-Final Opponent, Partizan Awaits: Niš to Host Final Four, Here's the KLS Playoff Format
This year, much like many before it, the competition format has undergone changes. The Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) has experimented with various approaches, including group stages, differing numbers of participants, and Red Star and Partizan entering only at the semi-final stage. Now, a new concept is set to be implemented.
As reported by "Mozzart Sport" earlier today, Niš will host the Final Four tournament of the Serbian Basketball League. The dates for this competition have also been announced. Interestingly, it is scheduled to take place from May 21st to 23rd, coinciding with the EuroLeague Final Four.
Under the new format, quarter-final series will be played in a best-of-three format. The teams that advance will then compete for the trophy in Niš.
Defending champions Partizan still await their opponent, with Hercegovac from Gajdobra and Sloboda from Užice both in contention. Meanwhile, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet will face Zlatibor in their quarter-final matchup. Both Belgrade rivals are set to begin their quarter-final series on April 29th and 30th.
In the other quarter-finals, Mega will play Borac, and Spartak will take on FMP. All quarter-final series must conclude by May 15th.
