According to Fox, the primary broadcaster of the matches in the country, this marks the largest American audience for any event outside of the Super Bowl and the Olympic Games. Naturally, it also stands as the most-watched football (soccer) match ever in the U.S.

These statistics were compiled based on data from Nielsen for television viewership and Adobe Analytics for other platforms. 42.5 million people watched the final on Fox's television channel, while 23.9 million tuned in via the Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo.

The final capped off a five-week tournament that captivated audiences in the U.S., one of the three co-hosting nations alongside Canada and Mexico.

The second most-watched match in the country after the final was the U.S.'s 4-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16, attracting 50.1 million viewers. Mexico's 3-2 defeat against England, also in the Round of 16, ranked third with 46.7 million viewers.
