Real Madrid and Fulham Shake Hands on Deal for Talented Forward to Join Arbeloa
Real Madrid and Fulham have reached an agreement for the transfer of the talented Spanish forward Gonzalo García, reports Fabrizio Romano.
According to reports, the 22-year-old will join the Cottagers for a fixed fee of €40 million, plus an additional €2 million in potential bonuses. Real Madrid have also secured a 30% sell-on clause for García, as well as matching rights, which require them to be notified of any future offers from other clubs, giving them the option to match the bid.
García was a key target for new Fulham manager Álvaro Arbeloa. The Spanish youth international scored 8 goals in 39 appearances for Real Madrid last season, but started in only 15 of those matches as he was second-choice behind the team's top scorer, Kylian Mbappé. García made his senior debut for Los Blancos in 2023 and has a total of 13 goals in 51 matches.
Another Real Madrid academy graduate, 21-year-old midfielder César Palacios, is also expected to join Fulham soon.
