Queen Halima: The UK-based Nigerian Producer shaping Afro-House's new wave

She is recognised as a part of a new wave of West African (specifically Nigerian) artists performing across various genres of music – Electronic-Afrobeat, Afro - House and Amapiano fusion. Her career is recognised and appreciated as a solid contribution to the African diaspora music culture in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. She has built her career around producing electronic Afrobeat music with live performances and other creative collaborations.

In her years of songwriting, music production and live performances, she has gained many celebratory achievements by working with other well-known and upcoming artists as well as performing live on stages across England, United Kingdom.

Some of these achievements include: co-writing Ade James’ “Essence” cover, which received over 1.2 million streams and over 2,250 playlist additions; co-writing Jai Eric’s “Agatha”, which received over 30,000 streams across major digital streaming platforms; and performing on the Brymo Live UK Tour (England – London, Birmingham and Manchester) in October 2025.

She has also received press coverage from P.M. News, Tribune Online, More Branches, Independent Newspaper Nigeria and has been discussed by music journalists Motolani Alake and Adeayo Adebiyi, following the release of her first independently released single “Melakusi (DJ Edit)”.

Queen Halima is credited across major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack and YouTube Music as an artist, producer, vocalist, songwriter and creative director.

In the span of 6 years in the music industry (since 2020), through hard-work and consistency, she was able to cross all these notable milestones by co-writing for artists like Temple T's Bajeola (March 2023), Tayhmie Black's Turn on the Lights (June 2023) and Ama Sandy's I Love You (June 2022) and Ade James's Essence (September 2021) which were all successfully released across digital streaming platforms.

She has also performed and gotten involved in the creative direction of Jai Eric Headline Show (U Wish Lounge|Birmingham). She has performed at the Brymo Live UK Tour, delivering DJ-led live performance sets across UK cities, which were referenced in the Independent Newspaper Nigeria.

Since 2020, she has been and still is working as a freelancer in Live Sound & Music Production Support; supporting concerts, showcases and studio productions across live and recorded environments, collaborating with artists, producers and engineers.

January 2025, she self-released a single, “Melakusi (DJ Edit)”, which was performed and produced by herself alongside DJ Amash, who also handled production; Temple T (Udochi Patience Ibeh), who composed the record; Sandra Amarte, who handled the mixing; and Gholldy (Oduweku Wuraola Francisca), who conceptualised and directed the recording sessions.
